Sharing

As of September 2019, I collected 752 hockey sticks. I received $5 per stick, a generous matching donation and $3500 in cash donations from people who didn’t have sticks but wanted to help.

Building

All told, I donated $11,083 dollars for The Marla Fund. And just last summer, the library in my Aunt Marla’s school was renovated to make it a literacy center for a new generation of readers, something my Aunt was passionate about. All of the money I raised made the library project possible.

Supporting

Raising funds for kidney cancer research is very important for new trials, treatments and early detection of this disease. All donations are tax deductible and go directly to the Kidney Cancer Research Alliance.
I hope one day we can find a cure!

New Library at Greenville School

In December 2015, Marla’s Fund was established by the Edgemont School Foundation at the request of the Payson-Weizner Family to honor the legacy and memory of Marla Payson Weizner and her dedication to the Edgemont School District as an educator of elementary (1st Grade) students.

The general purpose of the Fund was to support literacy programs at the two elementary schools in the Edgemont School District for items that would otherwise not be included in the school budget. In 2019, the Payson-Weizner Family chose to use the funds to sponsor the renovation of the libraries at the Seely and Greenville elementary schools.
